Industrial IP camera
The largest and most diverse from resolution perspective product category is the skoopia platform of Industrial IP camera (click for overview). Industrial IP cameras, but also Medical IP cameras differ from regular IP camera on three parameters:
-
Long life cycle of industrial IP camera
-
Upgrade options for industrial IP camera solutions
-
Replication of industrial IP camera solutions.

Numerous applications make use of Industrial IP cameras. Also Medical IP cameras are found in numerous applications. Particularly if latency is less of an issue, industrial and medical IP cameras often provide the most pragmatic approach to implement a vision solution.

Long life cycle | Industrial IP camera | Medical IP camera
skoopia Industrial IP cameras will last for a long time in market. Where typical regular (security) IP products change every three months, skoopia Industrial and Medical IP cameras will remains identical (form, fit, function) for 5+ years.
Moreover, an End of Life of the industrial IP camera will be announced upfront (typically 6 months or more before factual End of Life) and in this period you will have the opportunity to place a last time buy order (LTB). This allows you as OEM to manage your product life cycle most adequately.
Upgrade | Industrial IP camera | Medical IP camera
Regular IP cameras are present in abundant forms and sizes and resolutions. Changes are made continuously, as the key market, being the security industry, provides limited value on product stability. Every installation of IP cameras is different and as such more value is placed on new functions and higher resolution, rather then product stability or long product life cycle. Moreover, most of these cameras are final products, so integration of the Industrial IP camera or OEM camera is not required.

skoopia's Industrial IP camera platform is focused on minimizing the engineering effort of the OEM implementing next generation Industrial IP cameras. skoopia Industrial IP cameras provide the following benefits w.r.t. upgrade:
-
All industrial IP cameras in the skoopia portfolio have the same size, a single board 42mm x 42mm
-
All industrial IP cameras in the skoopia portfolio make use of the same API (Application Programming Interrface).
This allows a smooth upgrade from mechanical perspective (same size), as well as from a software perspective (same API).

Naturally, if new functions that the upgraded industrial IP camera provides are addressed, they have to be added to the interfacing software, but all existing functions will remain identical.
Replicate | Industrial IP camera | Medical IP camera
Replicability of camera settings seems trivial, but OEMs address applications that demand specific settings of the industrial IP camera.

skoopia industrial and medical IP cameras allow replicability of settings via a single config file, which can be distributed to other - but except from MAC address - identical industrial IP cameras. This function seems trivial, but the vast majority of IP cameras do not offer the ability to export and import settings, or only offer the ability to export and import for the same identical camera (same MAC address).

skoopia allows to replicate part of the settings (e.g. only the camera settings that are affecting the factual video image) or full settings (factual video image, but also network settings and/or user settings). It allows OEMs to easily and exactly meet the specific application demands using the industrial IP camera.
